About Us

Embracing and Supporting One Another Fuels Upliftment

The Galeshewe Gentlemen's
Dinner seeks to:

1

To bring like minded individuals and visionary young men from various sectors of society together.

2

Create a platform for sharing experiences, empowering each other through knowledge sharing and celebrating individual achievements

3

Promote and expose up-coming achievers and connect them with established and positive role models.

4

Foster a culture of mutual respect, cooperation and peer support amongst the men of Galeshewe, Kimberley.

We are steadfast in cultivating a culture of embracing and celebrating one another’s milestones, through this act we will be marketing these inspirational gentlemen to our main target market (The Black Boy Child) so that they emulate these gentlemen.

More especially that there is a lack of Positive Role Models within the black townships.

The Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinner is flagship programme hosted in Ga Kgosi Galeshewe, (soon to be hosted the in the entire Northern Cape Province & in RSA.

The programme was started in 2016, it is centred around an event which identifies and recognises the contribution of exemplary men who in their respective areas of work contributed positively to society.

These are Gentlemen that in essence espouse values and principles that are much needed to effect healing, development and the advancement of Black excellence. Having noted the lack of positive profiling of Black role models in the society, especially amongst Black men, the Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinner initiative aims to attain the above mentioned notion.

We are in our 7th year of hosting the Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinner, we can only be appreciative of the support we have received thus far to enable us to push this noble community building initiative. We are however looking forward to additional support from the community, private sector, businesses and the government to enable us to carry out the set out objectives of the programme with aplomb.

Furthermore with the required additional support we envisage to receive, The plan is to make this initiative a Provincial event & in the long run a nationally hosted and renowned Gentlemen’s Dinner.

We remain optimistic that we will receive the relevant support to host classy Annual Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinners.

We are optimistic that you are to: enjoy all future installments of the dinner; network towards a greater black society; and most importantly start to live a life that is pro supporting and growing one another for the betterment of our precious townships.

The importance of the GGD

Seeing young boys loitering on the street corners uninspired broke my heart so much, I had to do something to inspire them to become better future leaders.

I want them to know that it is possible to live past your situation at home. The young Black Boy Child needs a programme that they can identify with.” hence the inception of the GGD.

The GGD was formed where a platform can be created for men to share a platform to share experiences, empowering each other through knowledge sharing and celebrating individual achievements.

A boy child is hardly celebrated nor given the tender care our girl children receive.

The Galeshewe gentlemen’s dinner allows young boys to share a room with various influential black men who grew up under the same hardships as them who they can emulate.

The dinner discussions vary from academics, entrepreneurs and sports. gender-based violence.

The Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinner  aims to put more emphasis on the psychological aspect as men are losing their lives to suicide and committing horrendous crimes.

Galeshewe Gentlemen’s Dinner reminds men that it is good to celebrate each other and uplift one another man without feeling inferior.

The dinner concept wishes to e stresses the fact that a lot of youngsters in Townships are always found drunk in parks, wasting their lives away because they lack role models. Hence we are steadfast in marketing proper Role Models for the Black Boy Child especially in the era we live in Role Models are scarce.

Most importantly the concept would like to emphasize that: every male to be a brother’s keeper in a sense of splitting the rand through business and reprimanding one another.

By inculcating a culture of helping one  another  will  show  the young one’s the importance of being a brother’s keeper.

In conclusion! To many, this might be a mere dinner where men get together all dressed up with cigars and whiskies in their hands, but this gentlemen’s  dinner  aims  to  change how men are viewed in society and most importantly how men view themselves.

The Founder's Words of Encouragement

For young men who are trying to find their feet and those who have lost hope is to remain focused, to identify and choose proper males they can emulate in their quest to attain and live a meaningful life that is to benefit the society & not to lead astray by the meaningless street life.
